April 3, 2013—Standard Motor Products (SMP) recently release_notesd a new TechSmart Tech Session, featuring its TechSmart PMD Relocation Kit (S39001).
The video demonstrates how to correct a problem found in many GM 6.5L engines, where the OE mounting location exposes the original pump mounted driver (PMD) module to an excessive amount of heat that can destroy its internal components over time.
With the TechSmart kit, technicians can relocate the PMD to a more optimum location in the engine bay to minimize exposure to high engine operating temperatures, improving the PMD performance and extending its service life.
“Here’s another TechSmart solution,” Phil Hutchens, senior director of marketing for SMP, said in a statement. “We include everything in our kit that technicians need to solve this problem, such as a brand new PMD module, relocation harness, aluminum heat sink, mounting hardware, and a No. 9 resistor for exceptional performance.”
Tech session videos are available for viewing on the TechSmart YouTube channel.
