Aug. 5, 2014—Uni-Select Inc., an automotive aftermarket product distributor, announced recently that Henry Buckley was appointed chief operating officer by the company’s board of directors.
With more than 30 years of industrial distribution management, Buckley will oversee Uni-Select Canada, Uni-Select USA Inc. and FinishMaster Inc.
“I wish to express full confidence in Mr. Buckley, a highly experienced and talented manager who has demonstrated a great ability to deal with high growth businesses and who will be able to pursue the corporation’s strategic objectives with a view to increasing shareholder value,” Richard Roy, Uni-Select president and chief executive officer said. “I believe his skill set, in particular his leadership capabilities, will be extremely valuable for Uni-Select as we continue to grow our business.”
The appointment comes just after the company announced that its overall sales grew by 0.5 percent to $479 million in the second quarter of 2014.
U.S. operations sales alone raised by more than 1 percent from the same time last year.
Roy said in a press release that though sales growth was “softer” than he’d anticipated, he is happy with the company’s overall performance and will continue forward with the company’s current action plan.
"Looking ahead to the second half of Fiscal 2014, our primary focus will be on accelerating organic sales growth while maintaining or improving our momentum across all key performance metrics, including sales programs, supply chain, customer service and banner programs,” he said. “We will also continue to focus on initiatives that will enable us to remain the partner of choice for independent wholesalers and strengthen our leadership position in the automotive aftermarket product distribution sector.”
