AAPEX Service Advisor of the Year Shares His Keys to Success

Dec. 11, 2020—Dynamic Automotive's Jason Sexton was honored during this year's Virtual AAPEX Experience as the event's very first annual AAPEX 2020 Service Advisor of the Year.

The award was created to recognize and elevate the essential services that service advisors provide to keep drivers on the road. As noted in a release from AAPEX, Sexton was selected for his knowledge and love for the position and for his ability to build unbelievable relationships with customers.

According to the release, the team at Dynamic Automotive described Sexton, who has worked for the shop for 10 years, as a teacher at heart with excellent sales skills, a thirst for knowledge, a commitment to industry training and a strong belief in nurturing the relationships that are core to his work.

After starting his career as a lube shop bottom technician, he worked his way up to become an underhood technician where he first began selling services to customers. To improve his selling skills, Sexton turned to co-workers for advice and learned to pay close attention the the small details he learned about customers to try to connect with them on a personal level. 

Sexton told the AAPEX team his best lesson in the role has been realizing that strong customer relationships are built when customers know he cares. Sexton prioritizes transparency with customers and enjoys taking the time to make sure they are well educated about their vehicle and the auto repair industry as whole, filling them in on new technology and the steps they can take to lengthen the life of their vehicles.
