April 6, 2021—In an effort to combat the rising number of catalytic converter thefts, Minnesota-based Bird's Auto Repair and its local police department are putting on an ‘etch and catch’ program, KRFO reported.

In conjunction with the Goodhue County Sheriff’s office, the event will mark customers’ catalytic converters with their license plate number or other marking that would hinder thiefs from selling them.

The event will take place April 6 from 4-7 p.m.
