Repair shops have seen an influx in catalytic converter replacements, but now they are being stolen from as well.

April 28, 2021—A repair shop in St. Charles, Mo. was the latest target for thieves stealing catalytic converters, Fox 2 reported.

Repair shops have seen an influx in catalytic converter replacements—it was the most popular check-engine light repair of 2020—but now they are being stolen from as well.

Thieves stole 12 catalytic converters from the Complete Car & RV Center, cutting through a fence to get to the RV’s that were being stored at the shop. Detectives have since located the thieves.

The shop is now increasing its security presence, the outlet reported.
