NY Man Dies Attempting Catalytic Converter Theft

This is not the first time a catalytic converter thief has died trying to steal the part.

Sept. 27, 2021—A New York man was crushed by a vehicle while trying to steal its catalytic converter, News 12 The Bronx reported. 

The man was attempting to saw the catalytic converter off the vehicle when the jack slipped and the car collapsed on top of him. According to the report, the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. 

The man was not identified in the report. This is not the first time a catalytic converter thief has died trying to steal the part. In August and June, reports surfaced of similar incidents.
