ASA Holds Safety and Telematics Meetings on Capitol Hill

June 4, 2014

June 4, 2014—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) mechanical division leaders met last week with Congress members and their staff to discuss periodic motor vehicle inspections (PMVI).

The ASA encouraged Congress to work with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to promote state PMVI programs.

The group also spoke about telematics, requesting that Congress hold off on legislation for new vehicle technologies until the repair industry determines the need for such laws.
