The vehicles were severely damaged in the crash in Laguna Beach, Calif., according to the report. The police car was unoccupied and the driver of the Tesla suffered minor injuries.

Tesla released a statement in response to the crash, which stated that drivers must accept a dialogue box before using Autopilot. The dialogue box states that Autopilot is designed for use on highways that have a center divider and clear lane markings.
