March 23, 2021—A fired auto-service employee is facing charges after police say he intentionally set the garage on fire, Palive.com reported.
Investigators say Monday, the night of the fire, a former employee of Blue Knob Auto Service Center in Allegheny Township, Pa., crashed his vehicle through the garage door to break into the building. He then ignited a flammable liquid inside, investigators say. The back of the building was significantly damaged.
“At this point we’re not sure when we will be able to open back up, but we are going to try at least to work an abbreviated schedule using some of our internal repair facilities until we can get back up and running,” operations manager Jeremy Nagle Nagle told the press. “The damage here is severe.”
The former employee is facing charges of arson, burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, risking catastrophe, reckless burning and recklessly endangering another person.
