Feb. 1, 2021—Southwestern College in Chula Vista, Cali., will be expanding its automotive technology program, The Star News reported.
According to college staff that spoke with the outlet, the new Automotive Technology Center will be designed to address current mechanical technology, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
A new automotive technology center will be added at the Otay Mesa Higher Education Center. The 59,000-square-foot, one-story building will include offices, classrooms, high bay labs, student project spaces, workshops for welding and areas of storage for project cars.
Construction is scheduled to begin this year. The facility will open in spring 2022.
