September 12, 2019—Microsoft has expanded into the automotive industry and has announced a new program to help driving car manufacturers with self-driving cars, reports Windows Central.

The strategy now highlights core principles that govern Microsoft’s decisions related to vehicles with three key principles. These include:

  • Partnering across the industry
  • Data should be owned by the customer, as the company says they do no monetize customers’ data
  • Supporting automotive companies as they enhance their unique brand experiences to expand their relationships with their customers
