Jan. 11, 2017—Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care announced on Tuesday the launch of its transmission physician, an animated transmission expert who debunks common transmission myths and shares specialized, transmission-specific advice to drivers everywhere.
Consumers have the option of adding the female animated character to Cottman’s online video series, which includes another animated auto expert, the Cottman Man. Cottman aims to boost the representation of women as experts in the auto care industry, a place where the shop said it sees major gaps in gender roles.
“Cottman is passionate about educating its customers about transmission care and repair, and we’re thrilled to release the Transmission Physician character to our video series to aid in this effort,” said Derik Beck, vice president of digital marketing for Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care. “We’re proud to recognize the role of women in building and growing the automotive aftermarket service repair industry.”
The Transmission Physician is a specialist in transmission technology and repair, and explores topics through the video series, such as checking the automatic transmission fluid (ATF), why transmissions are so expensive, the process of how a transmission works, rechecks and more.
