Bosch Successfully Defends Against Counterfeiter

Oct. 28, 2016

Oct. 28, 2016—A United States District Court in Florida has entered a judgment in favor of Bosch in its complaint against North Shore Imports, LLC, which claimed that the company sold counterfeit Bosch aftermarket products.

North Shore Imports is now subject to permanent injunction and will pay damage to Bosch. The judgment prevents North Shore Imports from using the Bosch name and trademark for the sale or advertising of non-genuine Bosch products. It also calls for the return to Bosch of any of the products in question.

The decision marks the latest in a series of lawsuits in the past two years defending the Bosch brand.

“Bosch has a zero tolerance policy against counterfeits which are harmful to our industry,” said Enrico Manuele, regional president, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket North America. “We are pleased with the outcome of this action. It sends a clear message to would-be counterfeiters which we hope will discourage the spread of their activities in North America.”
