Jan. 15, 2013—Chrysler Group was named “Corporation of the Year” at the Urban Wheel Awards in Detroit Sunday for its achievements in developing women leaders in the automotive industry, according to a Chrysler statement.
An independent committee of journalists from multiple media outlets selected Chrysler to receive top corporation honors.
Chrysler officials said the recognition validates the company’s long-held commitment to diversity.
"It is an honor to accept this recognition of our accomplishments as a leader in developing the careers of women in the automotive industry," Georgette Borrego Dulworth, director of talent acquisition and diversity at Chrysler Group LLC, said in a statement. "Chrysler Group aspires to be considered a diversity leader and an employer of choice not just among automotive companies, but among all companies.”
