Nov. 25, 2013

Nov. 25, 2013—Nearly 300 Advance Auto Parts employees were joined at their Roanoke, Va.,  headquarters by the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and the Star City Corvette Club on Friday to assemble bikes for local children in need.

The volunteers assembled more than 200 bikes and donated them to the Salvation Army, which will distribute them to local children.

"It's a lot of fun," said George Sherman, president of Advance Auto Parts. "It's the right thing to do, it's who we are, and it's something we all get enjoyment out of."
