Oct. 11, 2016—IMR Inc., an automotive research company, has announced that it will be tracking detailed delayed maintenance metrics for light vehicles.
“With IMR’s new Delayed Maintenance Research, we are now measuring automotive repairs that consumers are consciously not performing,” said Bill Thompson, president and CEO of IMR Inc. “We can now get substantial delayed maintenance metrics for many parts categories, providing a comprehensive look at the specific repairs consumers are postponing.”
The new IMR Delayed Maintenance Research provides in-depth information on why specific repairs are being delayed; the reasons for postponing the service; the consumer intention regarding performing the repairs; and if the repairs will be made and in what time frame they will be completed.
“We initiated this study because of an expressed need for more information about consumer behavior when it comes to deferred auto maintenance,” Thompson said. “IMR’s CCAMS has always been the most comprehensive consumer research offering in the automotive industry and now the Delayed Maintenance Research takes it to another level.”
