Maine Shop Celebrates 40 Years

June 6, 2016

June 6, 2016—Autoworks Inc., a service shop in Kittery, Maine, is celebrating 40 years in the auto care business.

On June 14, 1976, Stephen Kosacz, president of Autoworks Inc., founded his business as Foreign Autoworks. In 1991, the business moved to its current location on Government Street in Kittery. Kosacz dropped “Foreign” from the name as people were replacing Saabs, Volvos and Peugeots with minivans and SUVs.

In recent years, the shop has been judged Best in the State of Maine and Best in Northern New England by AAA members. Kosacz keeps the shop active in the community with benefits and non-profits.

Autoworks Inc. will celebrate its 40th Anniversary by hosting a Girl Scouts car wash on Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
