Auto Career Development Center to Host Series of Classes

Feb. 8, 2013

Feb. 8, 2013—The Auto Career Development Center (ACDC) will host three hybrid and electric vehicle classes this month in Los Angeles.

The series of classes include two technical and one management class, all taught by Automotive Management Institute instructor and shop owner Craig Van Batenburg.

“Tech Tips for Honda, Ford, GM and Toyota Hybrids” will be held on Feb. 20 and features real-life tech support calls Van Batenburg has handled over the past 13 years. Learn how to re-balance a Honda hybrid vehicle battery, the top six issues with the Toyota Prius and a safer way to work on the Ford Escape.

On Feb. 21, ACDC will lead a class on regenerative braking and hybrid vehicle motor controls. The class focuses on the Gen II Prius, but will also explain all the braking systems used today.

Finally, “Selling Service to Electric and Hybrid Car Owners” takes place on Feb. 22. The class was developed to gain an understanding of the special needs of hybrid and electric vehicle owners. Besides learning how to sell service to a hybrid and electric vehicle customer, the class will also discuss the benefits of charging stations and what needs to be serviced on the vehicle.
