OTC Releases New Locking Collar Rack Wrench

Nov. 20, 2014

Nov. 20, 2014—OTC has released its new locking collar rack wrench in North America, the company announced on Thursday.

The pliers (Part No. 7485) is used to move steering rack components without disassembly. The wrench features an eccentric cam design and split-circle, which opens to wrap around and securely close on steering components. The half-inch square-drive cam automatically adjusts the lobe to the diameter of the bar, creating maximum leverage and a secure grip to position and maneuver components during vehicle service.

“Disconnecting components takes time and tight clearance and corrosion can make steering rack adjustments a real knuckle buster” Dirk Skogerboe, OTC product manager, said in a release. “The OTC 7485 Locking Collar Rack Wrench tool opens up fully, wraps around a tie rod and allows force to be applied directly to the part without slipping. With this tool, it’s easy on, easy off and on to the next job.”
