Neb. Community College Hosts 'Automotive Day'

Metropolitan Community College invited over 100 high school students into its building to learn more about careers in the automotive industry.

Nov. 15, 2022—A community college in Nebraska recently hosted an Automotive Day, according to 3 News Now Omaha.

Metropolitan Community College in South Omaha invited over 100 high school students into its lab to learn more about career prospects in the automotive industry.

Metropolitan Community College Pathway Coordinator Jim Champion told 3 News Now that he believes students have "a million different directions" to explore in the automotive field. Automotive Day sought to inspire the students by offering them relevant career information and activities in the lab.

It definitely made an impact on Millard South senior Avery Adams, who told 3 News Now that she enjoys the hands-on aspect of automotive repair, and she wants to be a part of the female representation in the field.

"We deserve the same opportunities as men and it's a very lucrative industry," Adams told 3 News Now Omaha.
