April 28, 2022—Richmond, Virginia-based Ironwood Automotive recently sold their building for $2 million, and now has big plans for the future with a building purchased just a 1.5-mile drive away.
According to Richmond Biz Sense, owners Kayla and Aaron Williams purchased their current location in 2019 for $490,000. When they sold it earlier this year, it was due to the attention of Bonaventure Realty Group, which plans to add over 200 units to an apartment building project on the purchased land.
This presented an opportunity for the couple to seek out a property that had long caught their eye.
“This property wasn’t for sale, but it’s on our test drive route,” Aaron said in the article. “I liked the building and the way it was laid out. I kept poking around and eventually we got to see it.”
The new property used to be a restaurant supply company called Zeta Products and is 6,700 square feet. That is twice the size of Ironwood's current location.
Ironwood owners have plans for a renovation costing around $600,000. They will move out of their current location in mid-May and hope to have all of their renovation work complete by the fall.
