March 12, 2021—Standard Motor Products, a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive replacement parts, will award $50,000 in scholarships to students pursuing an education in automotive technology or repair, according to a press release.
The program consists of three opportunities for 10 students. The Intermotor “Import Leader” scholarship will be presented to four students for $5,000 each. The Blue Streak “Better Then, Better Now” scholarship will be presented to four students for $5,000 each as well. The third and final scholarship, the SMP “Women in Auto Care” scholarship will be given to two women entering the field. Those will also be worth $5,000.
“Standard Motor Products is proud to again invest in the future of our industry and to recognize up-and-coming technicians who share our quest for automotive excellence,” John Herc, vice president of marketing, engine management division at Standard Motor Products, said in a statement. “These three scholarship programs provide relevant and exciting opportunities for students in our industry.”
The program is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Eligible entrants must be at least 18 years of age who are currently enrolled full-time in high school, or in an accredited two-or four-year College, University, or post-high school educational program.
