Feb. 8, 2021—An automotive program at Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wis., is helping students find work in the industry, the Beloit Daily News reported.
Through a partnership with the nearby Blackhawk Technical College, students are able to gain ASE certification while also accumulating credit at the college for free.
The high school automotive program typically has about 150 students, but is around 100 right now due to distance learning.
Students can gain ASE entry-level certifications in nine areas including: engine repair; automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, suspension and steering, brakes, and electrical and electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, engine performance and maintenance and light repair.
