GMC Resurrects Hummer

July 30, 2020

GMC discontinued Hummers in 2009, but now they're back with an all-electric vehicle.

July 30, 2020—After a delay, according to CNETGMC plans to resurrect the Hummer name this fall when they debut the first all-electric super truck, according to a GMC's website.

The GMC Hummer EV will have 1,000 horsepower with 11,500 pound-foot of torque. Although it is an entirely electric vehicle, according to GMC, it can reach up to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds.

GMC is marketing their new vehicle as the world's first "supertruck," according to the report. The new Hummer features an open-air design with four easily-removable roof panels and the front T-bar, allowing it to "let the world in," says GMC.

Production on the truck begins fall of 2021.
