August 1, 2019— TI Automotive has achieved platinum status with the SEMA Data Co-Op (SDC). The SDC is "data central" for hundreds of specialty parts brands, representing millions of part numbers and tens of millions of vehicle applications.
"We know that great data helps customers gain a full understanding of the products they are buying and how it will benefit them," said Brian Altenberger, aftermarket business director, Americas. "Achieving platinum status is a great testimony to the hard work of the aftermarket team at TI Automotive who helped us reach this elite level for product data."
To achieve platinum status, manufacturers must meet and exceed a range of data requirements and standards in every applicable field in the SDC scorecard. Platinum data provides nearly 60 PIES (product) fields and ACES (application and fitment) data, making it a complete set of information to build detailed product listings with descriptions, digital assets including images and videos, tariff codes and sales metrics. This data makes it easy for sellers to create informative product listings.
"Congratulations to TI Automotive for achieving the platinum scorecard," said Jim Graven, SDC senior director of membership. "Our research shows that end users of the data are more likely to build listings from platinum suppliers than from suppliers with a lower data status."
Since its inception in 2012, the SDC has helped thousands of businesses share and communicate product detail quickly and efficiently. The industry-owned-and-operated data repository gives members access to tools that manage a product's weight, size and application, as well as its price, shipping and UPC codes.
