Feb. 7, 2023– The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is offering entry-level certification tests for potential vehicle service employees, according to a press release.

The ASE is offering Entry-Level certification tests for the automobile, collision repair/refinish, and medium/heavy-duty truck segments. Those who gain the certification then have the option to gain a Professional Technician certification, and then Master Technician following that.

The cost to take the test will be $46 per student enrolled in an ASE-accredited program and $51 per person for others, and also allows the opportunity to take “any or up to all tests in a test series” twice in an academic year, according to the program’s FAQ. The test may be taken remotely as well as in-person.

ASE president and CEO Tim Zilke believes that ASE Entry-Level certification “is a gateway to a career as a service professional” and shows that those who are certified “can hit the ground running as an entry-level employee.”
