Electrify America Raises Public Charging Rates

Feb. 6, 2023

The price increase will take effect on March 6, 2023.

Feb. 6, 2023—Beginning March 6, Electrify America will raise its charging rates from 43 cents per kilowatt hour to 48 cents per kilowatt hour.

In a corporate statement, Electrify America said, “Electrify America has been able to maintain consistent and uniform pricing since September 2020; however, rising operational and energy costs have now made adjusting our pricing necessary. Our focus remains on meeting the needs of electric vehicle drivers of today and tomorrow by investing in our network expansion and enhancement to customer experience.

As reported by The Verge, Electrify America will also increase its per-minute rates in Massachusetts and Texas—from 16 cents per minute to 19 cents per minute—since billing customers by the kilowatt hour is not permitted in those states.
