Hunter Engineering has implemented several changes in its operations to help with supply chain issues and improve shipping speed, according to a press release.

In the past 12 months, Hunter’s St. Louis headquarters and production plants in Mississippi have received upgrades to its equipment and buildings.

A new 106,000 square foot, 37-bay distribution center was opened in Madison, Mississippi last year, located between its plants in Durant and Raymond, Mississippi. The new facility was built to help provide more production room and to accelerate shipping times.

Completed products are kept at the Madison plant before they are shipped to customers, and set a new record by shipping 30 racks in one day.

Hunter also had its St. Louis service center restructured to make better use of space and to streamline operations. A new automated pack-out line has allowed the receiving team to process critical inbound parts two days faster.

At the Durant plant, a new tube-cutting laser has allowed RX leg and cross-member cutting to be done onsite. A 10K Trumpf laser was also installed.

Additional press brakes, robotic welding cells and a panel former were brought to the Raymond plant as well as assembly operation cells to build the Ultimate ADASTM system and Maverick tire changer.
