According to a press release, students in Northwood University’s automotive aftermarket courses recently received a visit from leaders of the Auto Care Association (ACA).
ACA President and CEO Bill Hanvey guest lectured several aftermarket courses at Northwood’s campus in Midland, Michigan. He was accompanied by other ACA team members, including ACA Senior Director of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Aftermarket Warehouse Distributors Association Ted Hughes; ACA Director of Education Amanda Bischoping; and ACA Vice President of Standards and Digital Products Jonathan Larsen.
ACA leaders met with students from three different aftermarket courses: Aftermarket Manufacturing Management, which focuses on the role manufacturers hold in the market; Category Management, which trains students on inventory modeling techniques and data analysis for product manager roles; and Aftermarket Management Research, which covers research methods, how to form a hypothesis, and how to sample data to determine the validity of a hypothesis.
“It is very beneficial and meaningful for our students to meet industry executives, learn about the aftermarket on such a high level, and discover their passion and dedication to our industry,” said Dr. Thomas Litzinger, executive director of the University of the Aftermarket and Northwood University aftermarket industry chair. “Experiential learning opportunities like this are what set our students apart and help them become the future leaders of our industry.”
