Free, Three-Week Electric Vehicle Course to be Held in Louisiana
A free, three-week training course on electric vehicles will soon be held at Baton Rouge Community College, reports the Louisiana Illuminator.
The course will take place every week day, May 20 through June 7 at the BRCC Automotive Training Center, located at 2115 N. Lobdell Blvd. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Those who participate in the program will receive instruction on electrical energy, preventative maintenance for EVs, charging stations, and batteries, among other topics. The curriculum is designed to comply with Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) International standards.
The goal of the course is to help participants achieve nationally certified Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) technician status. According to a press release from the college, the program was developed in collaboration with ChargerHelp.
“We’re constantly learning and educating ourselves about innovative ways to prepare our students for the future workforce demands,” Chancellor Dr. Willie E. Smith, Sr. stated. “The ChargerHelp! EV training program is a wonderful opportunity for individuals seeking a career change that could place them in a better position to meet future demands.”
