The Auto Care Association’s Sustainability Committee is holding a webinar on core returns for auto care industry professionals, according to a recent press release.

Taking place Sept. 25, the session titled “Why Cores Matter: Strengthening the Aftermarket in a Complex Global Trade Environment,” will cover the critical role cores play in remanufacturing and aftermarket stability.

Attendees will learn from the battery industry’s impressive 90%+ core return rate; understand how core return habits directly affect shop profitability and vehicle longevity; explore the broader impact of core returns on supply chain pricing and product availability; and get practical steps to promote and sustain better core return behaviors across a business or network.

Acting as a panelist will be Eric Ingraham, owner of Bavarian Professionals: a repair shop in Berkeley, California, that specializes in BMW and Mini vehicles. He’s joined by Susan E. Bernard, vice president of government relations and sustainability for Battery Council
International; Joe Evert, vice president of GB Remanufacturing; and Ryan Lessig, vice president of product and marketing for SSF Imported Auto Parts, LLC. Moderators will include Delaney Kitching, manager of marketing for GB Remanufacturing, Inc., and Danielle Thomas-Pollard, director of IT and staff liaison of the Sustainability Committee for ACA.

Those from across the entire auto care industry, including remanufacturing, distribution, and repair, are invited to attend the session, which aims to provide actionable insights into boosting profitability, improving operational efficiency, and a clearer understanding of how core return practices contribute to supply chain resilience, customer satisfaction, and long-term retention.
