Aug. 10, 2016—Bosch announced Tuesday the addition of the Bosch 2D Virtual Garage, an interactive training and skills assessment resource, to its Bosch Online Learning Portal.
Participants of the online program can work with common diagnostic tools typically found in standard repair shops. There is a specific fault and technicians will attempt to diagnose the issue on a virtual vehicle.
Once the diagnosis phase is complete, the parts department can be opened and service parts selected and installed. A virtual test drive is then conducted to ensure the vehicle has been properly repaired.
After the exercise is completed, participants can measure their time against the standard time needed to complete the repair.
“Providing resources such as the Bosch Virtual Garage helps technicians assess and improve their skills and in turn, more efficiently and accurately service their customers’ vehicles in the shop,” said Bob Pattengale, manager, training and hotline, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket North America. “Through the Bosch Online Learning Portal, an expansive collection of content is conveniently accessible on demand 24/7/365 for those looking to improve their knowledge and skills.”
The Bosch 2D Virtual Garage Fault One scenario is currently available at no charge. Additional scenarios will be added for a small charge.
