Oct. 15, 2014

Oct. 14, 2014—Delaware-based Laird PLC opened a new telematics manufacturing plant in Shanghai Wednesday in order to serve the international automotive market.

The new plant increases production capacity and efficiency while ensuring that Laird continues to offer telematics solutions to automotive manufacturers and fleet management companies with reliable fulfillment and speed, the company said in a release.

The new plant serves as both a design and manufacturing center for Laird.

“Embedded in the design and construction of this plant are improved techniques for both communication and for the management of production areas,” Laird CEO David Lockwood said in a release. “This is another example of Laird’s investment to support growth in the market.”
