Auto Repair Shop Fighting to Keep Business in New Development

July 19, 2019

After 70 years, Mancinelli's Auto Repair could be forced out of a new, high-rent, high-tax area.

July 19, 2019—A new development is underway in Denver, threatening Mancinelli’s Auto Repair Center’s chances to be able to stay on the block, reports 9News.

After 70 years in the same area, Owner Steve Mancinelli now faces uncertainty where he will be in the future.

The auto repair shop has been working in the midst of two high-rise apartments. Steve Kelsey of Holland Development said the company loves Mancinelli and wish him well, but they currently have no need for his property, and are building around his shop. But even with offers that he is forced to turn down, taxes have become an issue from the new buildings surrounding him and will be open to buyers with big-ticket rents.

Now that the shop sits in a high-rent area, the rise in taxes will force Mancinelli to move the business out.
