April 13, 2020—A United Kingdom study shows consumers are more likely to purchase an electric vehicle after seeing how clean the air can be during the COVID-19 virus outbreak, reported Electrek.
Venso Automotive Solutions, a fleet management company, conducted a study of 200 UK consumers this month.
45 percent of respondents were considering buying an EV after seeing how clear the air can be. An additional 17 percent had already decided to buy an electric car and are even now more certain about their decision.
Of the 45 percent of respondents considering buying an EV, 19 percent said their purchase will be all-electric, according to the report. The interest in electric vehicles could also stem from a change in the UK's electric vehicle charging stations and a greater selection of models available.
