Final Tally: Shops Raise $115K Through ‘Brakes for Breasts’

Feb. 19, 2015

Feb. 19, 2015—Ohio shop owners and founders of Brakes for Breasts, Laura Frank and Leigh Anne Best, announced on Wednesday that they will present the check from the 2014 program’s fundraising push to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund on March 5th at 3:30 pm at the Cleveland Clinic.

“Everybody that participated is invited, and we would love to have you. The more the merrier! It’s a great opportunity to meet Dr. Tuohy and his Team and be a part of the grand finale of all of our efforts,” the duo stated in an email.

The check presentation is for $115,186, which was raised by the nationwide campaign where auto repair shops offer customers free brake pads and shoes on brake jobs (obtained through vendor sponsorship) and donate 10 percent of the labor and additional parts charges to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund.

Further details will be released in regards to a live webcast of ceremony for those who cannot make the event. The couple is also waiting on donations from 14 other shops who participated, so the amount on the check will likely grow by the time of the presentation ceremony.
