Nissan Announces First Electric SUV

July 21, 2020
The Nissan Ariya is set to be released in 2021.

July 21, 2020—Nissan recently revealed its first-ever electric crossover, the Nissan Ariya. Valued at $40,000 the electric SUV features two rows of seating, a battery range of up to 300 miles, and ample space throughout the vehicle.

The Ariya is said to operate more like a sports car than an SUV, reaching speeds of 62mph in a mere 5.1 seconds, according to a report by USA Today. With speed comes safety measures, and the Ariya will offer a more advanced version of Nissan's ProPilot Assist technology which allows for hands-free driving.

The electric SUV, which is set to appear in dealerships late next year, faces up against competitors like Tesla Model Y, the Kia Niro and the Chevrolet Bolt.
