20-Year-Old Takes Over Ohio Shop

March 15, 2021

A 70-year-old shop owner preparing to retire will be leasing his shop to Austin Everett, 20, with an option to buy at the end of the year.

March 15, 2021—A 63-year-old shop is handing over its operations to a 20-year-old mechanic and entrepreneur, the Canton Repository reported.

Since 1958, George & Blair’s Auto has been providing maintenance and repair services in Alliance, Ohio. In April it will re-open as A-Town Auto Worx with Austin Everett, 20, leasing the auto shop from owner Blair Young, 70. The lease is for one year, with an option to buy at the end of the year.

Young has known Everett’s father for years and after seeing Everett’s plans for the future, felt comfortable handing over the shop to him and begin his retirement.

Everett is in the process of remodeling the facility and modernizing its operations.

"The lobby is gonna be a nice, modern place for people to wait on their cars. We're gonna have beverages for people. We're gonna have a TV up in the lobby," Everett told the publication. "Everything is gonna be computerized, so invoicing can go right to text messages or we can print out receipts right then and there."
