ALI Warns Of Counterfeit "Certified" Lift Labels

July 30, 2021
Certain automotive lifts may bear a fraudulent declaration of compliance.

July 30, 2021—The Automotive Lift Institute released a safety warning Thursday noting that counterfeit gold “Certified Automotive Lift” labels have been found in the U.S.

According to a press release, certain automotive lifts from Budget Automotive Equipment Inc. installed in Ontario and possibly other Canadian provinces or US States may bear a fraudulent declaration of compliance and product certification intended to mislead lift purchasers, users, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

ALI reminded users in the safety warning that all lifts that have received an ALI Gold Certification Label are listed in ALI’s directory of certified labels. If the lift model is not listed, it is not certified.
