After 40 Years, This Technician is Retiring

An article celebrates the experience and work of a technician who's retiring after 40 years.

Sept. 20, 2021—A West Virginia newspaper recognized a technician who's retiring after four decades.

A story in The Garrett County Republican highlighted the work of Herman Yoder, 77, who is retiring from Hilltop Auto Center in Grantsville, Md. He talked to the newspaper about some changes he's seen over the years.

“One thing would be the fuel system,” he said, according to the story. “When I started, it was mostly carburetors, and then they went to throttle body fuel injection and then after that, they went to multiport fuel injection, where each cylinder had an injector. So it changed a lot over the years.”

Yoder was also active with the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department during his time at the shop.
