MD County Wants Charging Stations Added to New Homes

April 12, 2022

Prince George’s County Council believes EV is the future and wants homeowners prepared.

April 12, 2022—The Prince George’s County, Maryland, County Council believes it's time for the housing industry to invest in providing new houses with charging stations for electric vehicles.

If approved, 240-volt outlets would accompany new homes built with a driveway or garage.

Opponents of the bill point to the cost to execute and it not potentially being a feature new homeowners want as reasons for reconsideration.

Despite objections, WTOP reports members of the Council see EV as the future and early preparation in real estate is the best logical step forward.
