April 26, 2022

The all-electric truck can travel 300 miles on a single battery charge, and 2022 models are already sold out.

April 26, 2022—This week, the electric version of Ford's F-150 pickup truck called the F-150 Lightning will officially be rolled out by the automobile manufacturer. This model was announced just last year.

According to Morning in America, the 2022 F-150 Lightning is sold out as of Monday morning.

“It’s very exciting to be part of history, right? We’ve talked about, we’re in the moment of building this big change for the company, with the country and even the world going from gas to electric,” said Ford BEV implementation manager Chris Skaggs to Morning in America. “So it’s very exciting to be part of that. And I think everybody feels that.”

The F-150 Lightning houses a lithium-ion battery and will be able to travel up to 300 miles per battery charge. Accelerating from zero to 60 mph takes around 4.5 seconds, and the starting price begins near $40,000.
