Jan. 20, 2023—A storm last week damaged 40 cars in a San Francisco auto repair shop.
Flood water rushed into Alioto’s Garage, which is on a street prone to flooding.
"We had about six or eight employees come in on their day off when they heard about the rain, and they drove about half of the cars to a safe spot,” said Chris Alioto, co-owner of Alioto’s Garage.
Alioto told NBC Bay Area that he's frustrated with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s lack of response.
"Ever since COVID came around, the PUC stopped maintaining the drains by clearing them out every, every fall,” he said.
