Feb. 2, 2023 – The automotive department at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, is reopening its student service garage, ABC12 reports.
The garage, which closed in 2020 due to COVID-19, will be reopening on February 13 to once again offer a low-cost option for vehicle repair.
“The pandemic shut down in-person business for a few semesters,” said the Dean of Mott's Technology Division, Madonna Jackson, “and we're happy to be back on campus and providing this popular service to the community once again.”
The students working in the garage receive instruction from ASE-certified mechanics and typically work on vehicles manufactured between the years 2013 to 2023.
The garage will charge “$10 per vehicle per day for inspection, diagnosis and repairs,” and drivers will only pay the installation costs for replacement parts.
