Aug. 15, 2014—The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) announced on Thursday its 20th class of Accredited Automotive Managers (AAMs).

The graduation ceremony was held during the Automotive Service Association’s (ASA) “Celebration of Excellence” award ceremony on Aug. 1 at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich.

The class of 68 automotive service and repair professionals completed a minimum of 120 credits each to receive the AAM designation. The courses focus on five core areas of business management education:

  • Financial management
  • Marketing and sales
  • Operations and service
  • Management and administration
  • Personnel and human resource development

“This elite group of automotive service professionals join the 1,726 before them who understand and respect the significance continuing education has on their career and business success," said Toni Slaton, AMI executive director. “It was an honor to recognize these graduates for the value they place on their education.”

Multiple awards and scholarships were also awarded to various ASA members during the ceremony to recognize individual and company contributions to the automotive industry.
