Kia Sees Record CPO Sales

Aug. 8, 2016

Aug. 8, 2016—Kia announced Monday that it saw an all-time sales high this summer for its certified pre-owned vehicles.

Kia saw over 20 percent in gains in June and July over the same period last year. Kia’s CPO vehicles come with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and the program only accepts vehicles 5-years-old or newer with fewer than 60,000 miles. Each vehicle goes through a 150-point inspection before being accepted. Kia said leasing is becoming more commonplace across the industry, and those leases create a large pool of low milage, affordable Kia models that are ideal for the automaker’s CPO program.

"With household budgets squeezed, CPO vehicles represent a great opportunity for consumers, especially Kia customers who place such emphasis on affordability and value," said Michelle Krebs, a senior analyst at AutoTrader.

Kia also saw record-setting new vehicle sales in July.
