Automotive Hall of Fame Hosts 75th Anniversary Gala

July 25, 2014—The Automotive Hall of Fame held its 75th Anniversary Gala in Detroit on July 24, inducting four automotive industry leaders to the hall of fame and recognizing several others with prestigious awards.

The four new hall of fame inductees were:

  • Alex Tremulis, an automotive industry industrial designer
  • Keith Crain of Automotive News
  • J.D. Power of J.D. Power and Associates, a customer satisfaction indexing company
  • Ferdinand Piech, chair and engineer for Volkswagen Group

In addition, Jim Lentz, chief executive officer at Toyota North America, was recognized as Industry Leader of the Year.

Journalist Ken Gross and Frank Venegas of Ideal Group, a construction services and industrial material management supplier, were awarded the Distinguished Service Citation award during the gala, according to a Toyota press release
