July 25, 2014—TRW’s North American Aftermarket Group launched a range of OE-quality brake pad wear sensors, the company announced Friday.
The sensors were released to compliment TRW’s all-makes friction program and is aimed at adding a safety feature on vehicles to warn a driver when brake pads are too low.
“Because we understand that automotive components do not work in isolation, at TRW, we think in terms of systems,” Mark Thorpe, product and marketing group manager at TRW said. “The quality of one component can have a significant bearing on the performance of another so we design, develop and manufacture our parts to work in harmony with each other.”
The new parts covers many older and newer makes and models. Some of the newer models covered include the 2014 BMW 650i, 2014 Audi A Series and Audi Q5, 2014 Mercedes Benz E350, and 2014 Volkswagen Touareg.
