Six Schools Awarded S/P2 Subscriptions at SkillsUSA

July 6, 2015—Six champion schools were awarded free year-long subscriptions to S/P2 at the 2015 SkillsUSA national competition, held recently at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

SkillsUSA had over 6,000 education students participating in hands-on competition in 100 different trade, technical, and leadership fields on June 22-26.

The conference contests are designed to test the skills needed for successful entry-level performance in given occupational fields. S/P2’s competition in the Environment, Health, and Safety focused on safety practices and procedures.

The high school winners were: Jonathon Brian Ball (gold), Aberdeen High School, Aberdeen, Wash. (instructor: Mark Sandstorm); Shawn Deel (silver), Delcastle Technical High School, Wilmington, Del. (instructor: Adam Leiter); and Alex Marneris (bronze), Carl Sandburg High School, Orland Park, Ill. (instructor: Ronald Morris).

Post-secondary winners were: Thomas Hahn (gold), Joliet Junior College, Joliet, Ill. (instructor:  Jim Coleman); Forrest Powers (silver), Lakes Region Community College, Laconia, N.H. (instructor: Jamie Delato); and Hunter Pauloski (bronze), Western Technical College, La Crosse, Wis. (instructor: Brian Kanable).
