June 27, 2014—The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) announced Wednesday that David Gold was nominated to be the next secretary for the organization.

Gold co-owns Standard Auto Wreckers in Toronto, which specializes in eco-friendly vehicle depollution, dismantling, and the sale of recycled automotive parts.

"[Gold’s] talents, coupled with his profound knowledge of, and commitment to this industry will be a decided asset for our association and the membership of ARA," said Ed MacDonald, ARA president.

The ARA represents the interests of over 4,500 auto recycling facilities in the U.S. and 14 other countries around the world. It runs programs like the Certified Automotive Recycler (CAR) Program and Green Recycled Parts.
